Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 7, 2026

This page explains what information Contoh (contoh.org) collects when you visit, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: we don’t sell your data, we don’t run ads or tracking scripts, and we only keep what we need to run the site and reply to you.

Who we are

Contoh is a small, independent blog at https://contoh.org/. If you have a question about this policy or your data, please use our contact form.

Information we collect

When you just read the site

Like almost every website, our web server automatically records basic technical information for each request: your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for, the referring page and the date and time. Our hosting provider uses these logs for security, to stop abuse and to keep the site running. They are kept for a limited time and are not used to build a profile of you.

We do not currently use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

When you use the contact form

If you send us a message, we receive the name, email address and message you enter so we can reply. The form also contains a hidden anti-spam check that does not collect any extra personal information. Messages are delivered to our inbox by email; we keep them only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, and we never add you to a mailing list without asking.

When you leave a comment

If you comment on a post, we store the name, email address and website (optional) you enter, your comment, your IP address and your browser’s user agent, to help with spam detection and moderation. Your email address is never shown publicly. If you have an account with Gravatar, a service run by Automattic, a scrambled version of your email address may be sent to Gravatar to show your profile picture next to your comment; see Automattic’s privacy policy. Comments and their details are kept indefinitely so follow-up comments can be recognized and approved automatically, unless you ask us to remove them.

Cookies

Readers are not given tracking cookies. WordPress sets a small number of functional cookies only in these cases:

  • If you leave a comment and choose to have your details remembered, cookies store your name, email and website for one year so you don’t have to type them again.
  • If you log in to the site (staff only), login cookies are set to keep you signed in.

If we ever add analytics or advertising, we will update this page and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Third-party services and content

  • Fonts: our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers and Google receives your IP address. See Google’s privacy policy.
  • Share buttons: the share buttons on our posts are plain links. Nothing is sent to Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Reddit, WhatsApp or Pinterest unless you click one, at which point you are taken to that service and its own privacy policy applies.
  • Links and embedded content: posts may link to or embed content from other websites. Those sites may collect data about you, use cookies and track your interaction, just as if you had visited them directly.
  • Hosting: the site is hosted by a third-party web host that processes server logs on our behalf.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We only share it with the service providers listed above as needed to run the site, or if we are legally required to.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to receive a copy of it. This includes rights under the UK and EU GDPR and under U.S. state privacy laws such as California’s. To make a request, use our contact form; we will respond within the time the law requires and won’t treat you differently for making a request. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Contoh is a general-audience site and is not aimed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and we take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we add new features. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
